Macon County 4-H Awards Banquet 2005
Macon County 4-H recently held its annual 4-H Achievement Banquet to recognize 4-H members that were County, Regional, State and National winners in the various 4-H activities that were held during 2005. Macon County 4-H, had a great year in 2005, with many of the 4-H members participating in activities that build Citizenship, Leadership and Communication skills that will benefit them for life.
The Sponsors of the 4-H Banquet are Citizens Bank, North Central Telephone Coop., Tri-County Electric. These sponsors have helped with eh Awards banquet for many years, the Awards banquet would not be possible without their support.
Before the awards program kicked off those attending enjoyed a great meal and fellowship with one another. Approximately 140 4-H members, parents, volunteer leaders and sponsors were in attendance.
Above some of our special guests that made 2005 special are introduced and thanked.

4-H MEMBERS OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Pictured above is the Senior 4-H member of the year for 2005. Miss. Rosemary Childress presents the Silver Tray to Ashley. The Award is now called the Kenny Childress Memorial Award. Kenny was a great supporter of youth and 4-H in Macon County. We would like to thank Rosemary and Kathy Childress for being in attendance and presenting this special award.
The Junior High 4-H Members of the year for 2004, this Award is Sponsored by Citizens Bank. The award(s) were presented to Tara Wagoner and Samantha Satterfield. Both of them tied for this award which is very rare. Both had lots of participation in 2005 ,had great attitudes and promoted a positive image of Macon Co. 4-H to others in the County, Region and State.
Erica Burton was named the Junior 4-H Member of the year for 2005. This award was sponsored by Citizens Bank- Mr. Pete Willeston. Erica participated in many events throughout the 2005 year.
Sarah Fitzgerald received the Agents Award during the 2005 4-H Banquet. This award is presented to members that were Members of the year as Juniors, Junior High, and Senior Level. This award has only been presented to seven other 4-H members in past years: 1989 Kevin Ragland, 1990 Deric McClard, 1995 Spencer Harper, 1997 Christi Walker, 1998 Rob Fitzgerald, and in 2002 Laura Fitzgerald, 2003 Stephanie Walker, Jenni Thomas- 2004. Congratulations to Sarah for putting in long hours of work participating in all the 4-H activities during the last 9 years. Pictured with Sarah is Lynne Knight- Ext. Agent for 4-H/FCS.
