Judging teams provide an opportunity for members to become involved in a specific project area, regardless of whether they actually own an animal.
Participating on a judging team enriches a student’s ability to think, reason, and communicate. These skills are in high demand in the job market as many former judging team members across the country have obtained leadership roles in the livestock, dairy and meat industries.
Students involved in these judging teams can meet and interact with students from other counties and some develop life-long friendships. Depending on the success of a team, some may have the opportunity to travel and compete at the State and National levels. Contacts met along the way may help these students better understand animal agriculture and develop stronger ties with its leaders.
Macon County 4-H is proud of its success with judging teams over the last several years. We hope to continue our success with great participation.
